RETURN TO PAGECalifornia Walnuts. Super Food. Super Source of Omega-3s.Want to protect your health and possibly extend your life span? Eat more “Super Foods”! When Dr. Steven Pratt introduced the concept of Super Foods in his 2004 best-selling book, “SuperFoods Rx”, he explained the concept like this: “Some foods are better than others for your health.” Walnuts were identified as one of 14 “SuperFoods” because of their high omega-3 content, a distinction that makes walnuts unique among tree nuts and peanuts. Walnuts are the only nut that contain a significant amount of omega-3s. No other nut even comes close! Walnuts’ High Antioxidant ActivityWalnuts are also known for their high antioxidant activity. Antioxidants help offset the effects of oxidation, a process that is constantly occurring in the body. The human body is equipped to deal with a certain level of oxidation. Naturally occurring antioxidant enzymes work to protect our cells and our DNA from oxidative damage. Oxidative stress occurs when the body’s natural defenses can’t keep up with oxidative damage. Daily events like breathing, eating, being exposed to cigarette smoke or pollution, and over-exposure to sunlight can all create oxidative stress. Some researchers believe that oxidative stress may contribute to cancer risk. One way to possible combat oxidative stress is to eat more antioxidant-rich foods, like walnuts. |

A 2002 study conducted in Norway showed that walnuts rank second only to rose hips in their antioxidant content. The researchers examined a wide variety of plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, cereals, nuts, and seeds. Sunflower seeds were shown to have 25% of the activity of walnuts while other nuts (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts and peanuts) exhibited less than 4% of the activity. Walnuts contain a number of substances that may contribute to their overall antioxidant activity, including melatonin, ellagic acid, gamma-tocopherol, carotenoids, and polyphenolic compounds. The Bottom LineWhile research in this area is emerging, and there is little scientific consensus on the role of antioxidants in reducing risk of cancer and other chronic diseases, everyone can agree that eating walnuts for their proven cardiovascular benefits is a smart move. The above photograph showing English Walnut trees that were both three years old at the time. They were all purchased as seedlings from the same stock. They are located in alpine desert country in the U.S. They were planted in two groups, the control group is closest to the fence and the test group is 12 feet from the fence. The control group received no fertilizer, and the test group received only Super Food Grower.
The walnuts pictured are from 3 year old trees. Look at the difference! The small walnuts came from the control group while the large ones came from the test group. The large nuts are almost the size of tennis balls!
The test group of trees are now over 20 feet tall and are producing close to 20 gallons of tennis ball size walnuts every year from 2 trees! They are much larger and healthier than the control group in the pictures producing only about a gallon of regular size walnuts. They have no parasites or diseases. The control group produces “normal” size nuts and a much smaller yield as compared to the test group. Which is better? 10 gallons of walnuts shown on the right or 1 gallon of walnuts on left?

We also have tested Super Food Grower on many different plants with the same great results.
Roses:
We planted a rose bush outside our window with north facing light. The soil in the area is sand and rock. We added Super Food Grower and at one time the rose bust was over 20 feet tall and 12 feet wide. It was just 5 years old! As it is close to the house we prune it back every year. We end up pruning at least over a foot off to keep it from growing over the roof every year.
Tomatoes:
Cherry tomatoes the size of regular tomatoes? With Super Food Grower it's possible. The vines of the plants were 4-6 feet tall! And the tomatoes taste great. Start producing sooner as well.
Raspberry:
Raspberries grow larger and produce more fruit longer.
We have also used this product on; Avocado trees, spider plants, aloe vera, christmas cactus, peppermint, catnip, lavender, shamrocks, wandering jew, hazelnuts, peach trees, plum trees, pepper plants, tiger lilies, day lilies, yucca plants, horsetail reeds, and more all with great results.
